Dead Man’s Watch, a paranormal mystery replete with ghosts, zombies, friendships, romance, and humor, takes place in the rural farmland of eastern Missouri.Some knowledge seems to race ahead of all that can be known. For Rachel Law that understanding was about the dead, and the undead. Although they were obsessed with her, it seemed the more she learned, the less she knew. This morning, as she turned her bookstore sign to open, she braced herself for more unknown, as she saw Wayne Grant approach. Some people thought that Rachel’s exploits made her legendary in Franklin Furnace. Rachel knew that the real legend was about to enter her shop. Wayne, known locally as the town zombie, had died. Twenty-years-ago, on a dare, he climbed to the top of a high tension power line, and was electrocuted. The local doctor said it was the hitting of the ground as he fell that must have jolted his heart back from death. Rachel knew he wasn’t really a zombie, although he looked like one. Still, she found herself hoping against hope that he was coming for a book to read and not a brain to eat. Turns out that he was coming for help. His own ghost, which escaped his body at the time of his death, was now haunting him. As Rachel tries to help Wayne, she learns that helping an undead is frowned upon in the spiritual world. Soon, Rachel is plagued by paranormal events that threaten her life and the lives of all those she loves.
